Cosmology: We can Influence Destiny

The ancients had a very vast knowledge, and modern astrology is beginning to recover some of this profound knowledge. During the middle and dark ages, all astrology was down-to-earth as people worried about physical plane processes. Modern astrology tends to deal with the psychological level, which is very good. However, before the end of this century there will be a new trend developing - astrology purely for spiritual unfoldment, and for reaching Cosmic Consciousness. Cosmology deals with the origin of the universe and the cosmic interrelatedness of all things. In other words, everything is interrelated to everything else, and this is what astrology is trying to show. Interrelatedness is part of the Divine Law, how the Divine Mind works. Everything within the solar system is interrelated to everything else: our Sun is interrelated to a group of twelve Suns which, in turn, are interrelated to another group of larger Suns which are interrelated to the central part of the galaxy. That, itself, is interrelated to another galaxy, and so on. Nothing is isolated, and what actually happens down here on Earth is really what our little planet Earth can receive from the vast cosmos. The Earth is a being, an inhabitant of the cosmos, and so is the Sun, and so are we. This means that what our planet Earth can receive from the greater cosmos, we can become. The Absolute, which we cannot know or worry about, is the Cosmic Heart. Below that stands the Creator, which is a condensation of the Limitless Light, or the Omni-field of the Light of the Absolute, and further below that the Light condenses into a center, which becomes the universe. This universe is inhabited by the great Cosmic Gods - the Logoi, the Rulers or the progenitors of the galaxies. Their aura surrounds a whole galaxy, and within them all other things arise. The galaxies are Cosmic Gods, or we can say Intelligent Beings whose bodies comprise the many various stellar systems. Below them, we come down to something smaller, to a star which is another being - a lesser god, like a Solar God, or Solar Logos. Even further down, we find the hierarchies. From our Solar Logos, there arise the planetary spirits; our mother Earth is a spirit in whose physical body we live, in whom "... we live, and move, and have our being...." - (Acts 17:28). All of our planets live in the Sun, and our Sun lives in this Cosmic Space. We actually live and move and have our being in a hierarchy above mankind. On the planets there are hierarchies - like a human hierarchy on Earth. There are also the angelic hierarchies, the animal hierarchies, and many others. In fact, twelve hierarchies exist on our planet Earth, coexisting with each other: the human, the animal, the plant, and the mineral hierarchies are only four of them. But there are eight other hierarchies which belong to the angelic, the Archangelic, and other spiritual hierarchies - all inhabiting this one single planet we call Earth. Kabbalah gives a very detailed picture of the universe, and astrology is all part of this science. This is just a part of the astrological knowledge of the ancients.   In conventional astrology we learn that somehow the planets influence us, and perhaps influence the destiny of a race, or even the whole planet itself. Oriental astrologists go further and say that, yes, we are influenced, but using the right means we can also do something about it. We can somewhat change, mitigate or modify astrological influences with the right kind of rituals, chanting, sound, color, visualization, mandalas, symbols, and other means. The idea of Oriental Astrology is that you are not a victim of these powers; that you can actually do something about them. So in astrology, there are two kinds of astrologers: the ones who are fatalistic, and the ones who are free. The fatalistic astrologers say that everything is predetermined, and things will happen as described in the stars and we cannot do anything about it. The other kind of astrologers say, "Yes you can do something about it." There is quite a big distinction between these two.
